How Does It Work?
Tell your patients to throw out their razors. No more waxing. Now you can promise your patients they’ll be ready to go at a moment’s notice. Laser treatment for hair removal means a fast and reliable, permanent hair reduction. Laser, or LASER simply means, Light Amplified by Stimulated Emission of Radiation.
Each pulse of the laser takes a fraction of a second and can treat many hairs at the same time. The laser can treat an area approximately the size of a quarter every second. Small areas such as the upper lip can be treated in less than a minute, and large areas, such as the back or legs, may take up to an hour.
Lasers are useful for removing unwanted hair from the face, leg, arm, underarm, bikini line, and other areas. Most patients have permanent hair loss after an average of three to seven sessions.
Hair grows in several phases (anagen, telogen, catagen) and laser effects the currently active growing hair follicles (early anagen). Hence, several sessions are needed to damage the hair in all phases of growth and force it to revert back to a vellus non-colored small hair.
